I recently worked with a client at her office in Denver doing a complete business tune-up. Yesterday was the wrap up, creating check lists, determining how she can get through all of those lists, reach her goals and get on the road to success. It was very exciting for both of us. But we were darn tired after an intense 4 days.
Through it all, she kept a smile on her face and talked about the positive things that the changes would bring to her business. A great attitude!
When I arrived at the Southwest outdoor check-in, the gentleman that helped us had a huge smile, while he chatted with us about the cold weather. He asked me how to pronounce my name – then burst into song “Chérie, Chérie baby…” When he put the 2 bags on the scale, one was 7 pounds overweight. He said with a big smile “you 2 must have had fun while you were here!” Again he had a great big smile. Nothing more said, no over limit fee – what? A great attitude!
Our main cabin Flight Attendant had light banter throughout the announcements, which had us all laughing – and she did it with a big smile on her face. A great attitude!
We went to baggage claim, and then I called Thrifty to pick us up to get our car. The gentleman that answered said, he is already out there waiting for you and you could tell he had a smile on his face. Then he said, we didn’t want you to wait since it is so late and so cold outside. A great attitude!
He delivered us to our car, helped load the bags, and started to leave before he even had gotten his tip. When Pat handed him a generous tip, he was almost surprised and said Thank You! He directed us to the exit where we would pay, and then waited in his vehicle until we were ready to leave, as we were at the back of a very dark parking lot. A great attitude!
The guy at the Exit greatly us warmly, even though it was after midnight, and cold! He asked how to pronounce my name as well. He welcomed us back home, thanked us for using their service and directed us to the exit, all with a big smile. A great attitude!
So, you NEVER know when your smile, your kind words, or your great attitude can make someone’s life better. I have to say it was truly an Inspire Me Monday kind of day.
